Efrance Najjuma
Efrance, a Ugandan PhD student, joined the Department of Agricultural Economics on February 10th 2025. Her research focuses on scaling up the adoption and consumption of orange-fleshed sweet potatoes (OFSP) in marginalized communities in Uganda.
She holds an MSc in Plant Breeding from the Pan African University, University of Ibadan, and an MSc in Research Methods from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Her previous research projects include the validation of SNP markers associated with Striga hermonthica resistance in selected maize populations and Assessment of the technical efficiency of open-field tomato production systems in Kenya.
Currently, Efrance works as an assistant lecturer at Mountains of the Moon University, Uganda
