Jerry Mosses is a PhD student at Ghent University, where he started his doctoral studies in July 2024. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
He is also an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Economics and Social Studies at Ardhi University, School of Spatial Planning and Social Sciences in Tanzania.
Jerry’s PhD research explores power dynamics and governance structures in urban food markets to promote inclusive food democracy in Tanzania. His research seeks to promote an enabling governance framework that can enhance food democracy in selected urban areas of Dar es Salaam.
