Kennedy has been a Doctoral researcher in the department since August 2023. He also serves as a Tutorial Fellow at the School of Agricultural and Food Sciences at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology. He holds a Master of Science in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture, along with a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management.
Kennedy’s research examines the dynamics of sorghum adoption and dis-adoption among farmers in Kenya’s Lake Victoria Region. His work focuses on farmer behavior and decision-making processes, the role of farmer organizations in shaping adoption pathways, and farmer preferences.

Bio
Kennedy Vaati Mutuku has been a Doctoral Bio Science Engineering – Socioeconomics student in VLIR – UOS sandwich program since May 2023. He is an Assistant Lecturer in the School of Agricultural and Food Sciences of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management and a Master of Science in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture with a major in the Economics of Black Soldier Fly production as a farm enterprise from the African Center of Excellence in the use of Insects as Food and Feed (ACE-INSEFOODS).
Research
Kennedy’s research focuses on the adoption and disadoption of sorghum in the Lake Victoria Region of Kenya. Integrating socioeconomic factors, technological innovations, government policies and support programs.
