Bio

Nguyen Hoang Ngoc Linh is a PhD researcher at the Department of Agricultural Economics, Ghent University, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ir. Stijn Speelman.
Prior to joining Ghent University, Linh was a lecturer and Youth Union Secretary at Hue University of Economics, Vietnam. In that role, he actively connected academia with local businesses to promote experiential learning, foster university–industry collaboration, and support applied research initiatives.
Linh holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management (FSPPM), formerly known as the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program (FETP), in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Research

Linh’s research focuses on food loss and waste (FLW), the ugly food supply chain (UFSC), and sustainable food systems in Vietnam.
Adopting a multi-stakeholder approach, his work examines supply chain dynamics, stakeholder perceptions, policy frameworks, and business opportunities to enhance the market integration of cosmetically imperfect produce.
The overarching goal of his research is to improve supply chain efficiency and advance sustainability within agri-food systems.
