Mariem Sghaier is a Socio-economics Ph.D. Student at the Agricultural Economics department of Ghent university. She received her master’s degree in Economic Intelligence from Poitiers University in France in 2019. Since 2018, she has been working with the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) on rangeland governance and management in south Tunisia.
Her current PhD research focuses on natural resources management, and the influence of institutional dynamics on the governance of these resources. She is an active member in several programs focusing on the governance of rangelands and works regularly using statistical programming and data analysis.
