Michaël de Clercq is a Belgian PhD student and joined the Department of Agricultural Economics in May 2020. He obtained a bachelor’s in marketing at Artevelde University College and a Master of Science in Economics at Ghent University.
Michaël’s research revolves around the socioeconomic impacts of regional digitalization, with a specific focus on rural development. He is a contributor to the DESIRA H2020 project, investigating the economic and social impacts of digitization in rural areas.
At Ghent University, Michaël also assists in several courses pertaining to development economics and sustainable development.
